Fire alarm system design, installation, service and inspections are regulated by the State of California Fire Marshall, Local Fire Authority (*AHJ) and guided by standards written by National Fire Protection Association (*NFPA). Systems are designed for life safety and /or to maintain building integrity.

HI DESERT ALARM
Fire Detection

Notifying building occupants is essential during an actual fire emergency. A selection of horns, bells, and strobes are strategically places in, around and outside of the structure.

These devices will activate in the event of a fire situation, alerting building occupants to leave the premise immediately.

Touchpad or command centers inform the user of the control panel status. Delivering precise information such as current status, low battery, activated fire zones, trouble signals and/or communication failure.

If a fire or trouble zone activates, the touchpads will annunciate to alert the user to the control panel status. This unit is also used for monitoring, testing and resetting of the fire alarm panel.

Fire alarms control panels are a crucial piece of equipment in the life safety scheme. Required to work in the worse case scenario and under extreme conditions. Some fire panels have the ability to monitor hundreds of zones, maintain battery back-up for (X) amount of hours, annunciate multiple audible devices and transmit signals on two different telephone lines.

First line detection comes from smoke detector units. Units are tied into the fire alarm panel and activates a fire zone when it senses airborne smoke particles or ionization.

Fires can simmer before a device will detect ignition spot. If there is an individual with knowledge of a fire, they may active the fire alarm manually by merely pulling the lever putting the fire alarm control in emergency status.

Local Fire Jurisdiction dictates what must be installed to protect your structure. Smoke detectors, mechanical duct detectors, manual pull stations, heat thermostats, fire sprinkler flow switches and post indicator vales. Residential, commercial and industrial structures fall under local ‘Authority Having Jurisdiction’ guidelines. For more information, please seek the advice of your local ‘AHJ’.

Even when it comes to fire sprinkler systems, residential or commercial, water based or dry system, they are still tied into a fire alarm. When a water flow valve is activated, post indicator valve is turned opened/closed, or a low air pressure is indicated, this action will active the fire alarm control.
