In an effort to provide the highest communication reliability, fire jurisdiction standards recommend the use of two lines in the event one is inoperable. Fire systems typically send in a 24hr test everyday to verify communications. In the event telephone line one can not be used, the fire system automatically switches lines and transmits signals.

There are numerous reasons, but the number one culprit is a dirty smoke detector. Many times a subscriber can use a basic household vacuum to clean the unit, and/or purchase a can of pressurized air (*Typically found @ any computer retail store) to blow out the device. This should correct the problem and if it fails to do so, please call for service.

There are three primary activations for fire systems: Smoke - Heat - Manual. Smoke detectors detect smoke. Thermostats use heat to activate. Manual activation is a person physically tripping the system by means of a pull station.

Fire systems typically encompass the ENTIRE BUILDING and not just limited to one suite or room. An example would be a strip malls where there are multiple businesses occupying many non-accessible suites. Company technicians MUST OBTAIN ACCESS at least to the fire alarm control panel to silence audible devices.

Inspection times varies on the nature of business and existing fire hazard stored in your building. Typically the standard inspection is performed on an annual bases for businesses. Subscribers should also replace residential smoke detectors batteries every year. Fire sprinkler systems generally require a five (5) year certification. For specifics, it is best to contact your local fire department.

Fire systems typically receive a one year contractual warranty after installation. Fire systems are considered ‘PART OF THE STRUCTURE’, and therefore, sold outright and owned by the actual building owner. If the fire system requires service, repairs, or inspections, the company can provide at current prevailing rates.
